Gilmer Lineman Challenge

On saturday May 23, the Wildcat linemen competed at Gilmer.
We took a JV team of 9/10th graders, and a Varsity team of
incoming 11/12th graders. All competed very well and SS definitely
dominated over all.

For the JV, Boatman won 1st in the bench press and 2nd place over-all
for the day.

In the Varsity division, Y'Barbo finished 1st in the clean lift event with 21 reps
of 185 lbs. and 2nd place behind Carpenter in the obstacle course with a time
of 42 seconds, 1 second behind winner Carpenter. Y'Barbo finished 2nd place
over-all for the day.

Carpenter finished in first in the bench press and in the obstacle course events,
and a first place over-all for the day.

Congratulations to Jake Russell and Krista McMahan on being awarded
the "Fighting Heart" award, and to Tyrick Rollison and Mackenzie Cross for
the MVP award, presented last night at the annual Sports Banquet.
It was a great evening of food and fellowship, and recognition of all of our
SSHS student atheletes who have worked so hard during this school year.
You have represented well.
